Host Eligibility

AM I ELIGIBLE TO BE A HOST?

A ROALS Host is an individual specialist obstetrician, specialist anaesthetist, GP obstetrician or GP anaesthetist in the public and/or private sector located in rural and remote Australia (ASGC-RA 2 to 5).

Hospital administrators (in consultation with the Host) are able to apply for locum relief on behalf of their obstetricians and anaesthetists.

 

Specialist Obstetrician Host

     

Specialist obstetricians applying for locum support must have a RANZCOG Fellowship, or be an Overseas Trained Specialist or be in an Area of Need position.

     

Specialist Anaesthetist Host

 

Specialist anaesthetists applying for locum support must have an ANZCA Fellowship, or be an Overseas Trained Specialist or be in an Area of Need position.

     

GP Obstetrician Host

 

GP obstetricians applying for locum support must be credentialed to practice obstetrics in Australia

     

GP Anaesthetist  Host

 

GP anaesthetists applying for locum support must be credentialed to practice anaesthesia in Australia


ROALS can provide funding for 14 days of subsidised locum relief per Host, per financial year plus locum travel costs. Funding for locum travel is paid on a per placement basis. The 14 subsidised days can be taken as one placement or a number of shorter placements.
