AM I ELIGIBLE TO BE A HOST?
A ROALS Host is an individual specialist obstetrician, specialist anaesthetist, GP obstetrician or GP anaesthetist in the public and/or private sector located in rural and remote Australia (ASGC-RA 2 to 5).

Hospital administrators (in consultation with the Host) are able to apply for locum relief on behalf of their obstetricians and anaesthetists.

Specialist Obstetrician Host |
Specialist obstetricians applying for locum support must have a RANZCOG Fellowship, or be an Overseas Trained Specialist or be in an Area of Need position. |

Specialist Anaesthetist Host |
Specialist anaesthetists applying for locum support must have an ANZCA Fellowship, or be an Overseas Trained Specialist or be in an Area of Need position. |

GP obstetricians applying for locum support must be credentialed to practice obstetrics in Australia |

GP Anaesthetist Host |
GP anaesthetists applying for locum support must be credentialed to practice anaesthesia in Australia |
ROALS can provide funding for 14 days of subsidised locum relief per Host, per financial year plus locum travel costs. Funding for locum travel is paid on a per placement basis. The 14 subsidised days can be taken as one placement or a number of shorter placements.
