TAKE UP A LOCUM PLACEMENT IN RURAL AUSTRALIA

All ROALS locums must register with the scheme and submit a current CV with the contact details of two professional referees.

Locum vacancy notices will be advertised via email notifications.

Locums are ineligible to participate in the ROALS program if they would be providing locum services in the same locality as their usual workplace and may not undertake any of their usual obstetric and/or anaesthetic duties for the period of their locum services.

Following receipt of your application form to register as a locum, the ROALS Secretariat will enter your details into the ROALS Locums' Database. When a locum expresses interest in a vacancy, the ROALS Secretariat will send an email to the Host and include the locum’s contact details, Part B of their application form, CV and contact details of their referees.
The Host is responsible for the decision to employ the locum.


Locums must provide:

  • evidence of professional qualifications;
  • evidence of current professional registration and history of registration;
  • details of 2 recent professional referees from recent clinical practice work (including obstetricians/anaesthetists, medical administrators or other healthcare professionals);
  • briefing on clinical issues on completion of the placement to ensure continuity of care for patients; and
  • completed evaluation form following the placement.
