Medical Advisor

The ROALS Medical Advisor has been appointed to provide a workforce support mechanism for ROALS Host and Locums.

The Medical Advisor’s role is to:

  • Provide non-clinical advice to Hosts and Locums;
  • Advise Locums on process issues associated with rural practice;
  • Facilitate the resolution of any conflict that may arise between Locums and Hosts or Locums and local health services;
  • Support Fellows who are recently elevated or from an urban environment to adjust to rural practice;
  • Respond to requests for advice from the ROALS Management Group; and
  • Participate in the ROALS Advisory Committee as an ex-offico member.

It is important to note that the role of the Medical Advisor does not include the provision of clinical advice; such advice should be available via the existing networks and referral pathways at the locum site.

The ROALS Secretariat will provide you with the Medical Advisor's contact details upon request.
